Vivek Astvansh

About

Vivek is an associate professor at McGill University, Canada. He researches negative events in a firm's nonproduct market (e.g., activism, terrorist attack, employee unionization), and how these events impact marketing personnel, language, decisions, and outcomes. Although his primary method is regression, his published research has used experiments and machine learning. Aside from his job at McGill, Vivek teaches data science at Indiana University. He is also the Chief Research Advisor for Dewey Data Inc., a company that aspires to be an alternative to WRDS. Vivek worked in the tech industry for 12 years before he started his Ph.D.
