Kristina Schaffer

About

Kristina Schaffer is a 4th-year Ph.D. candidate in Marketing at the University of Graz. Her research interests lie in the areas of Marketing Strategy and B2B Marketing. Her professional background in strategic sourcing in the automotive industry was a natural launching pad for igniting her interest in the world of B2B Marketing and interfirm relationships. This background also implies that she is focused on the relevance of her research findings for practitioners. In terms of theoretical domains, her research draws on the literature in marketing strategy, inter-organizational relationships, distribution channels, transaction cost economics, and relational governance. Kristina is currently working on her dissertation with a leading global manufacturer of capital goods, wherein she investigates the nuances of how training between firms contributes to the evolution and outcomes of interfirm relationships. Kristina's commitment extends beyond research, and she actively engages with students in the classroom by teaching courses on marketing research, global marketing, and service marketing. In the little time that she has free, Kristina loves to climb and gather travel experiences.
