Dr. Maren Becker received the first prize for her dissertation on the topic "Advertising Effectiveness: The Role of Content".

Every two years the Markenverband e.V. and the Gesellschaft zur Erforschung des Markenwesens (G-E-M) e.V. award the " Wissenschaftspreis des Markenverbandes". This award honours scientific work that deepens our knowledge in the field of brand management. In 2018 the science prize was awarded for the 20th time . The award ceremony took place during the traditional "Förderkreisdinner", the dinner of the boardmembers of the Markenverband, in the Humboldt-Box in Berlin.
